Abstract: LBG algorithm is a basic algorithm for Vector Quantization.In this paper,a modified LBG algorithm is proposed.Two new rules,spliting the voronoi with more distortion rule and annihilating non-typical voronoi rule are added and new split method is used.The result shows that modified LBG algorithm has new merits and raised the efficiency.
