Abstract: A new sheet metal dieless forming technology is introduced. It adopts the principle of "layered manufacture" of rapid prototyping. An approach of tool path generation based on the STL file for sheet metal part forming is presented. By slicing the offset model of STL file, the forming tool path can be obtained from the intersection line of the offset surface with horizontal plane.
