Abstract:
In recent years, 3D-DWT and 3D-SPIHT coding method with high compression ratio draws the interest of professionals. This paper proposes an optimizing 3D-SPIHT coding scheme based on the existing algorithm. The method sufficiently reduces the redundancy between trees, improves the fine detail in coding process, effectively reduces the scan time in SPIHT, and combines more wavelet coefficients together in high sub-bands and reasonably organizes those in the lowest sub-band so that the compression performance is improved. Simulation results show that, under the same compression ratio, the quality of the video produced by our method is better than the existing methods in about 1~5 dB (PSNR).
