Abstract: A computer model capable of generating the effect of gouache is explored.The model consists of four parts including brush unit design，pigment simulation，pigment diffusion as well as high-level control mechanism.It can be applied directly to the traditional 3D polygonal models.Results demonstrating the capabilities of presented model are also given.
