Abstract: An approach for building collaborative design system with bus architecture to realize screen sharing and remote control is presented. Identical screen visual presentation of design tools is shared concurrently among different users, while modification of the current design is accomplished through remote control. Various functional modules are attached onto the bus with plug-and-play paradigm. Such an approach has the merits of simplicity in implementation and flexibility in running. Additionally the method and the architecture are applied in the building of a product collaborative design system (PCDS).
