Abstract: A new approach for extraction of overlaps between layout cells is presented.The cell abstract is introduced in the algorithm and any cell overlap can be handled with it.It is produced after the cell is extracted and then mapped onto its reference cells to do their extraction and connect cells.This algorithm is implemented in a hierarchical layout-circuit extractor called HNE.
