Abstract: Shot boundaries were detected by analyzing temporal evolution of the number of matched scale invariant features across frames,and two different measure schemes were proposed,namely pair-wise based matching and chain matching.The number of matched points within a shot usually varies smoothly,but changes rather markedly across shot boundaries.All kinds of shot transitions are detected within the same scheme,with the advantage of avoiding model selection and parameter adjustment.
