Abstract: Software reuse has been a focus topic in software engineering. This paper presents a client/server CAD framework and a distributed integrated commercial CAD system based on it. With this practical case, the paper addresses the building methods and principles of framework components. Meanwhile the productivity of the reusable framework, that is application specific and bigger grain component, has been demonstrated.
