矢量小波在图像压缩中的应用

Application of Multiwavelets to Image Compression

  • 摘要: 为了评估在低比特率情况下矢量小波变换压缩图像的效率,使用一种有效的嵌入式小波系数来实现编码 .首先,使用Tan等找到的预滤波器对二维图像进行预滤波;并选择BSA(4/4)*滤波器进行滤波;然后使用一种经过改进的嵌入式零树小波编码方法来对矢量变换系数进行量化;最后,利用算术编码算法对比特流进行编码 .文中给出了一些实验结果来证明本文方法的可行性,并且把它们与标量小波变换和其他矢量变换的结果相比较.

     

    Abstract: For evaluating the effectiveness of multiwavelet transform for coding image at low bitrates, an embedded coding of wavelet coefficients has been realized. Two-dimensional image is first prefiltered by Hwee Huat Tan's approach. Then, a new modified embedded zerotree wavelet code (EZW) algorithm with BSA(4/4)* filters is introduced to quantize multiwavelet coefficients. Adaptive arithmetic coding is used to encode the bitstream. Some experimental results show that multiwavelets are effective and worth further studying.
