Abstract: The new generation of CAPP system for networked manufacturing named NET-CAPP is under development. It is built on CORBA architecture. The difference of NET-CAPP and traditional CAPP along with some key techniques, such as capability assessment, candidate partner evaluation and XML-based process exchange are described in detail. An example is given to illustrate the function of the system.
