Abstract: Algorithms of knot insertion are widely Used in representation, intersection and classification of B spline curves and surfaces. A new algorithm of knot insertion used in GEMS9 is presented in this paper. Not only it represents the well-known Boehm algorithm and Oslo algorithm uniformly, but also its complexity is better than Boehm's and Oslo's.
