Abstract: A customization oriented intelligent elevator design system（IEDS） is presented,with the knowledge involved in the elevator design being classified and stored in knowledge libraries to realize the modularized management of knowledge,and the features,facts,experiments and rules of the product design being encapsulated into various kinds of case libraries by integrating the technologies of parametric design,feature based modeling and software integration to backup and realize the intelligent design. The system helps enterprises to avoid tedious redesign works,and reuse the existing knowledge to greatly improve the capability of prompt feedback to the markets and get higher efficiency of new product development.
