Abstract:
This paper presents a novel method for seam elimination based on image gradient field,briefly called-GFBSE.By the method,a gradient field derived from source images is introduced into general total variation model,which gives an gradient field-based energy function.Seam elimination is performed by solving a nonlinear partial differential equation to optimize the energy function.The proposed framework can eliminate photometric inconsistencies in image stitching globally,and correct geometric misalignments caused by image registration.Discussions and comparisons with several existing methods theoretically and experimentally show the benefits of GFBSE method.
